VOLUNTEER WITH PRIDE IN LAW

Pride in Law is a National LGBTIQ+ Law Association. We support the legal community to enrich the lives of lawyers and other people involved in the legal profession with diverse genders, sex, sexualities, and bodies. All our welcome to be involved, including allies that wish to support Pride in Law's objectives. 

Pride in Law is seeking expressions of interest from the community to join as a volunteer across our National Board of Directors and Chapter Executive Committees.

Volunteer with Pride in Law's Chapters (Executive Committees)

Pride in Law relies on volunteers to bring diversity, experience, maturity and fun to the legal space and can provide great opportunities for skill building, professional and social development and giving back to the legal community.

Volunteering with us is a wonderful way to meet people in the legal community and represent an organisation who takes pride in what they stand for and prioritises providing a safe and inclusive environment for all professionals.

There are numerous volunteering opportunities with our Pride in Law Chapters (Executive Committees), including:

  • President

  • Vice President

  • Treasurer

  • Secretary

  • Events Coordinator

  • Indigenous Officer 

  • Advocacy Officer

  • Enquiries Officer, including web design, newsletters etc

 

There are current vacancies in Queensland, Victoria and Western Australia. These current opporunities include:​

Requirements:

  • Must be aged 18 years or older

  • Must be a member of Pride in Law 

  • Must be able to commit for up to 24 months of volunteering

  • Basic level of understanding of LGBTIQ+ terminology, language, barriers and intersectionalities

  • A team player who is confident interacting with people, community members, stakeholders and public speaking

  • Ability to work autonomously, in a reliable and trustworthy manner

 

Desirable:

  • Prior experience working or volunteering

  • First Aid and CPR training

  • Valid Driver’s Licence

National Board of Directors

Pride in Law is always on the look out for the next generation of leaders. The National Board of Directors are seeking volunteers with experience across a range of professions and experience, including:

  • Experience in service management (legal preferred)

  • Training Services Management

  • Finance Management (CPA/CFA)

  • Legal advisory and expertise

  • General corporate governance experience

  • Marketing and communications

  • Not-for-profit fundraising, branding and stakeholder management
