2023/25 NOMINATIONS
NATIONAL BOARD OF DIRECTORS
AND
CHAPTER EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEMBERS
On behalf of Pride in Law, it is our pleasure to invite you to nominate to be a National Director or as a Chapter Executive Committee Member.
Pride in Law is Australia’s National LGBTIQA+ Law Association. Pride in Law is a non-political association aimed at connecting lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer or questioning, and asexual (LGBTIQA+) members of the legal community and their allies. Our National LGBTIQ+ Law Association is wholly run by volunteers, governed by a formal Constitution, which is ‘Law Focused, Pride Inspired’.
Are you someone who is passionate about the law? Are you an experienced board member or in-experienced, but with a passion to help and empower others? Pride in Law is looking for National Directors and Executive Committee Members who are passionate about helping others to succeed in their legal journey to make a difference in their life. Throughout May 2023, you are able to nominate for all positions with Pride in Law. We are calling on the leaders of our profession to help Pride in Law lead our association by becoming a National Director or Executive Committee Member on one of our Chapters in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, and Western Australia.
All members are encouraged to nominate.
We are interested in applications from LGBTIQA+ individuals AND our allies in the legal profession, including:

People identifying as part of the LGBTIQA+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, intersex, queer, asexual) community.

All allies.

Anyone outside of metropolitan areas.

Transgender, gender diverse, or non-binary people.

University students studying law and academics.
-
People with intersex variations.

People who identify as First Nations.
-
People with a refugee background.
-
People living with disability.
Nomination Process:
The Pride in Law Executive Committee is elected every two years while a third of the National Directors positions are elected or re-elected, in accordance with our Constitution. The positions include,

National Director.

President (One position per State).
-
Vice President (One position per State).
-
Communications Officer (One position per State).
-
Community Officer (One position per State).
-
Events Officer (Two positions per State).

Advocacy Officer (Two positions per State).
We are inclusive, diverse and passionate about the law. Whether you’re an ally or part of the LGBTIQA+ community, all are welcome to nominate and be elected.
On 01 May 2023, nominations opened. Nominations will close at midnight (AEST) on 31 May 2023.
There are no changes to the nomination form and nominees may fill out the form online through the link below. There are 18 questions, which are primarily multiple choice. There are three (3) questions that require some further information about why you wish to be a National Director or an Executive Committee Member. These three (3) questions have maximum 200-word limit per question.

As in previous years, these will be two-year terms commencing on 1 July 2023.
Elections:
Voting will take place via online between Monday, 5 June 2023 and midnight (AEST) Sunday, 18 June 2023, after nominations close.
Successful candidates will be advised on Wednesday, 21 June 2023. You will be requested to accept the position by COB on Friday, 23 June 2023.
The election results will be announced at Pride in Law’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Wednesday, 28 June 2023.
