HISTORY: PRIDE IN LAW’S QUEENSLAND CHAPTER
On 17 November 2017, Dean Clifford-Jones launched Pride in Law’s Queensland Chapter in the Banco Court of Queensland at Brisbane; a ceremonial court used for admissions services. The keynote speaker was retired District Court Judge Milton Griffin KC. Chief Justice Catherine Holmes (at the time), the former Queensland Attorney-General Yvette D’Ath, as well as other judicial officers, politicians and prominent legal professionals attended the event.
Since 2017, Pride in Law’s Queensland Chapter have held networking events, made submissions to government and provided LGBTIQA+ visibility for the legal profession in Queensland.
